Whatever happened to Philadelphia’s manget schools? When I last lived in Philadelphia, there were newspaper stories of suburban kids who lied about their residence to get into a city manget school. Incidentally, the Harrisburg School District also once had a manget school that attracted many (maybe most) of its students from suburban school districts. A new superintendant of schools (one of many in the revolving door for that post) shut it down.
